Monemvasia-Malvasia PDO

Location: Monemvasia

Composition: Monemvasia (at least 51%, Assyrtiko, Asproudes, Kydonitsa)

Characteristics:

1. Appearance: Orange-yellow color with golden highlights, which over time end up in fiery yellow shades with brick and honey highlights.

2. Smell: Intense and complex aroma, with notes of exotic spices, honey and raisins and dried fruits.

3. Taste: A sweet taste that balances masterfully with the acidity of this excellent wine of the four well-married varieties “Monemvasia”, “Assyrtikou”, “Kydonitsa”, “Asproudes”. A rich, round, velvety wine, with notes of honey, well-balanced spoon sweetness, and dried fruit. Its aftertaste is particularly enjoyable, aromatic and long-lasting.

Malvasia Paros PDO

Location: Paros

Composition: Monemvasia (at least 85%, Assyrtiko)

Characteristics:

1. Appearance: Orange-gold color with bright highlights.

2. Smell: Complex bouquet of ripe and caramelized raisin fruit and honey.

3. Taste: Taste rich and full with a balance of sugars – acidity and a long aromatic aftertaste.

Malvasia Handakas – Candia PDO

Location: Heraklion

Composition: At least 85% Assyrtiko, Athiri, Vidiano, Thrapsathiri and Liatiko and maximum 15% of White Muscat and Malvasia di Candia Aromatica

Characteristics:

1. Appearance: Bright crimson color with intense brown highlights.

2. Smell: Aromas of dried fruit, nuts, coffee and cocoa.

3. Taste: Particularly long and aromatic.

Malvasia Sitia PDO

Location: Sitia

Composition: At least 85% Assyrtiko, Athiri, Thrapsathiri and Liatiko and maximum 15% of White Muscat and Malvasia di Candia Aromatica

Characteristics:

1. Appearance: Clean wine, pale yellow with a rich structure and fluidity at the same time. 

2. Smell: Distinctive presence of fruit, pear, melon, with white flowers, notes of orange and sweet grape. Ripeness and coolness together.

3. Taste: Sweet, light with a complexity of wood and sweet fruits. Long and pleasant aftertaste.
