Dr. Ilias Anagnostakis
"An honor being a Malvasia Ambassador"
Dr. Elias Anagnostakis holds a degree from the Faculty of Philosophy (Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies) of the University of Thessaloniki, a Diplôme d'Études Approfondies of the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and a PhD of the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne).
Since 1985 he has been a Researcher at the Institute of Byzantine Research of the Greek National Research Foundation, while during the period 2013-2018 he served as Director of Research at the Institute of Historical Research of the Greek National Research Foundation.
He was the director of the "Daily Life in Byzantium" program at the National Research Foundation in Athens, and also responsible for the research programs: "Wine Culture, Technology and Management of Olive Oil and Wine Production" and "Byzantine Nutrition and Gastronomy". The programs function as a main point of reference for all relevant studies conducted in Greece. He also was the organizer of the international symposium "Monemvasian wine, Monovas(ia), Malvasia" and editor of the proceedings.
