"Malvasia is art!"
Wine Storyteller | Sommelier | Cultural Project Manager | Founder of Malvasia Pop Up™
Laura Riolfatto is an Italian cultural project manager, wine storyteller, and certified AIS and WSET sommelier, based between Venice and San Candido. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, she holds a Master’s degree in Museum and Cultural Enterprise Management, complemented by executive training in project management and digital marketing. Her professional career began in contemporary visual arts, encompassing exhibitions, artistic research, and curatorial projects in Italy and internationally. She subsequently held coordination roles in contemporary art museums and foundations, including Fondazione Prada. She currently directs the artistic programming of Docks Cantieri Cucchini, a creative and cultural hub in Venice.
Since 2022, she has increasingly focused on the intersection of wine, cultural heritage, photography, and storytelling. She is the founder of Malvasia Pop Up™, a project dedicated to exploring and promoting Italy’s 19 Malvasia grape varieties through historical research, curated tastings, cultural experiences, and territorial narratives. Her work particularly highlights Venice’s historical role in the Mediterranean wine trade and the cultural legacy of Malvasia.
She is also the creator of Table Venice, an editorial project connecting wine, gastronomy, art, landscape, and seasonal traditions through photography and writing. Her interdisciplinary approach brings together contemporary cultural practices, wine heritage, and experiential storytelling, exploring how wine can communicate the history, identity, and cultural memory of places.
